In March 1979 a conference about ideas to problems of a theoretical, social and political geography took place at Dresden, from which this paper originated. Comment on the inclusion of the group term and on the classification of groups is given, so that bourgeois and marxist points of view distinctly stand out. At the same time the authors refer to the positive contribution of the Muenchener social-geographic conception to the further development of geography. At last the authors discuss the inclusion of social-geographic considerations into the economic geography in GDR. To establish an individual social geography is considered unnecessary under the present circumstances.
