Description :
The subject of this research is the spatial inequality of the employment markets accessible to residents of the inner city and to the population of smaller towns in the vicinity of large cities. Men and women have been investigated separately and the differences between the two groups have been subsequently analysed. The research emphasizes spatial inequality in employment opportunities resulting from selecting processes of population and employment dispersal at the regional level (the Utrecht city region). One of the conclusions is that selective concentration/dispersal processes in the Utrecht city region have resulted in an increase in travel-to-work distances. (AGD).
