Description :
Paper presented to the 4th ECE Conference on urban and regional research, Paris, 1980. In many metropolitan areas of the Western world countries urban planners are confronted with a rapidly increasing spatial mismatch of people and employment, resulting in a swelling stream of commuters. An important aim of this study was, on the basis of the available literature, to give the Dutch Physical Planning Agency a better insight into the spatial matching of homes and workplaces in city regions, with emphasis on economic development.
