Present tendencies in the development of industrial structures and locational interlinkages
Auteur :HOTTES, K.
Description :
The structural changes are caused by production decline in bitumious coal and iron mining, overinvestment in the iron producing industry, concentration of enterprises, especially of the industries processing agricultural products, and the extension of new ways of production and the adaption of automation. Contrary to the regional development policies, industry is spatially concentrating along the main lines of infrastructure, e.g. the Rhine, and near regions with high recreational values. The desired industrial mobility does not occur from the metropolitan areas to the peripheral zones of the country, but within the built up areas from the centres to the urban fringe. (l'A.).
