The development of agrarian structure and cultural landscape

Auteur :
NIGGEMANN, J.

Description :
Changes in the agricultural structure lead to changes in the cultural landscape. In the F.R.G. production conditions for agriculture have fundamentally changed since 1950: technological progress in agriculture has teleased an enormous amount of labour urgently needed in other branches of the economy. The increasing purchasing power of large parts of the population led to changed consumption demands. Agriculture had to adapt itself continuously, and produce cheaper and more goods. Since the formation of the Common Market the process of adaption has affected not only the size structure of enterprises but also the cultural landscape under the new conditions of marketing and producing. The integral improvement of spatial structures was in general carried out within the framework of property consolidation. (l'A.).
