Description :
Soil freezing is described from the general point of view and in some locations of the country. The main importance is devoted to the analyses of a fifty years soil temperature observation series at the station Brno-Kvetna in the period 1923/24-1972/73. The depth of the deepest soil freezing had fluctuated from 22 to 100 cm.
