Service sector office employment and regional imbalance in Britain, 1966-71

Auteur :
DANIELS, P. W.

Description :
Although service industries in Britain became more widely distributed at the regional level between 1966 and 1971, growth services which contain an above average proportion of office occupations remained highly localized in the South East region. An attempt is made to estimate the actual contribution of office relocation by service industries to regional office employment growth between 1966 and 1971. It seems that service sector office employment growth in problem regions will depend more upon the performance of indigenous services activities than on redistribution from the South East. (AGD).
