Attitudes towards an inner-city environment

Auteurs :
JOHNSTON, M.
ROSE, A. J.

Description :
111 residents of an inner-city suburb of Sydney were asked to list the advantages and disadvantages of the area and whether they intended to stay or move. Current theories on inner-city areas maintain that the working-class residents have a strong affectual attachment to the inner-city and its way of life. The results of the survey suggest that these theories do not correspond with the attitudes of the inner-city working-class resident.
