The paper describes the development of the Vensyssel and Ringkobing-Fyn-High, of the Hunte-and the Eichsfeld-Altmark-Süd-westmecklenburg and the Netherlands ridge during the stages of main depression, differenciation and the early stabilization of the NW-European depression zone. The general characteristics of these and other palaeoridges built up in a similar way are shown. By reason of these characteristics the above mentioned structures are to be regarded as dictyogenetic forms (after v. Bubnoff, 1936). They represented a transition stage to the present tectonic structure of N.W. Europe, and appeared as the primary widely and first of all palaeogeographically effective framework of the NW-European depression zone.
