Mise en évidence d'une déformation rotationnelle Est-Ouest par l'orientation optique du quartz dans la fenêtre des Tauern (Alpes Orientales)

Description :
Study of the siliceous nodules of the Hochstegen calcareous unit (normal cover of the Central Gneiss, lower penninic unit of the Hohe Tauern window) in order to complete and interpret the initial studies of B. Sander (1930). Microstructural analyses and the quartz fabric suggest a polyphase emplacement for both the penninic and austro-alpine nappes. The intracrystalline quartz deformation (basal slip) and the associated substructures correspond to a late stage thrust emplacement and are compatible with the P-T conditions of alpine metamorphism (leopontine). In the hypothesis of a simple shear event, it thus is possible to suggest a secondary displacement of the nappes which could be contemporaneous.
