Description :
The economic region of Eastern Siberia is abundant in cheap solid fuels, water supply and other natural riches. An increase in the exploitation of these riches will substantially contribute to solving the tasks set for the fuel industry by tenth Five-Year Plan of the USSR. The further development of the Eastern Siberian region will be done by building up regional production complexes. The present paper describes the characteristic features in the construction and improvement of the production complexes of the Krasnoyarsk area, Sayan and Bratsk-Ust-Ilymsk. The present stage of the territorial development of Eastern Siberia is illustrated by means of cartograms and a schema of important economic relationships of the production complexes mentioned.
