A study of a paleosol from East Nigeria

Description :
The Bende profile is developed from finely stratified non-oxidized marine alluvium, rich in pyrite and represents a fossil soil formation probably of pre-Pleistocene age. Physico-chemical, micromorphological and mineralogical analyses are performed to evaluate the features observed in the field. Scanning electron microscopy is employed to study some of the features observed in thin sections.
