Evaluation floristico-écologique du paysage entre St-Joris (Beernem) et Tielt

Auteur :
STIEPERAERE, H.

Description :
During 1973 and 1974 an analysis has been made of a 30km transect between Beernem and Tielt (Belgium, Prov. West-Flanders). This transect covers the transition from the podzols in the north to the agricultural landscape on more loamy soils in the south. In order to compare the transect with the overall Belgian situation a reference list of the Belgian flora, the standard list, has been made. The floristical evaluation method of MENNEMA has been applied to the species lists. It appears that the afforested heath landscape has significantly higher scores for the floristical value and the value of the vegetation. These values are highly correlated with the species-number per km (r>0,90). Because of this correlation, an alternative approach is proposed.
