Stratigraphical, palynological and 14C studies undertaken on mineral and organic sediments observed in a coastal site at Le Lornel (Pas-de-Calais) show a complex history from 5000 B.P. until now. The transgressive and regressive phases are correlated with the classic schemes described in the Netherlands and in France. Also the dune building shows rythmic alternations similar to those observed in West Netherlands. This fact corroborates the climatic explanation from the dutch authors.
