Description :
For the production of small scale geological maps the interpretation of satellite imagery can be used to map large areas with drastic reductions in overall time and in field checks. As an example a geological interpretation map of the Tibesti is presented, in which, on the basis of LANDSAT-1 imagery, lithological units could be discerned and mapped, as well as the regional structures.
