The abundant grèzes litées of the Châtillon area are subjected to granulometrical as well as mineralogical analysis on the ground. Among the mobilizing processes involved, congelifluxion and streaming are associated. The water is produced by the seasonal melting of frozen ground or permafrost and to a lesser degree by snow and rain falls. The exposure accounts for the N-E, E and S-E directions of the deposits.
