Geographical aspects of contract farming: with special reference to the supply of crops to processing plants
Auteur :HART P. W. E.,
Description :
The extent of contract farming in Britain is increasing markedly, especially in connection with the procurement of raw materiel supplies by the food-processing industries. The spatial implications of this system are analysed at a local scale, drawing on the results of an empirical study. Attention is focused on the complexity of the decision making process surrounding contract farming. Spatial patterns of production are examined and a broadly-based theoretical framework is suggested for their interpretation. (AGD).
