The main purpose of this study is an evaluation of the applicability of some quantitative technics in geographical research. Geo-statistical measures of areal association, the fifting of polynomials, spectral analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, Weaver's combination index and location quotients were considered for use and/or experimented with on subsets of data for the cities of Tilburg and Eindhoven.
