Nouvelles remarques sur les versants quaternaires du secteur de Delphes

Auteur :
PECHOUX P. Y.,

Description :
The fault scarps in the vicinity of Delphi (Greece) are far from being completely graded| they were maintained by recurrent faulting up to recent Quaternary. Though both originated mainly from seismoclastic breaking up and subsequent mass movements the detritic deposits of A. Efthemia and the oldest breccia on the southern talus of the Parnassus cannot be considered as one and the same thing: the former one is older than the latter. Both Mindelian and Wurmian talus fans are related to rhexistasic crisis which interfered with tectonic activity. The scarcity of Rissian deposits is questioned from the morphoclimatic point of view and the seismic one as well.
