Real world and real time political geography

Contemporary political geography is dominated by studies of the more affluent and democratic nations, with a corresponding under-representation of studies of the totalitarian and Third World nations which comprise the global majority. This note queries the reasons behind this bias, suggests some implications and raises possible avenues for exploration.
