Description :
It has often been claimed in Finland during the 1980's that flooding in Ostrobothnia has increased as the result of ditching and other regulation measures. In order to gain additional information about the subject a study is made of a number of rivers known to flod regularly over two twenty year periods. During the first period, 1940-1959, there was still little regulation of the rivers and ditching of the forests and bogs| during the second period, 1964-1983, the changes wrought by man were considerable.
