Description :
A periodically repeated survey has allowed to follow for four years the evolution of a compound sand spit. The progradation has included a series of dunified storm ridges. The stages in elaboration have been defined. In spite of a rapid retreat in the feeding area (4m per year), the sand supply is no longer able to allow the continuation of the progradation of the distal part, as a consequence of intensive exploitation of sand by man (retreat in the distal area: 25 m per year.
