Description :
The unconfined aquifer in the coastal plain is characterized by the presence of salt water at depths varying between 2 and 25 m. Around the Belgian-French border the unconfined aquifer is located in sediments of Quaternary age. An investigation, containing some tens of borings with borehole loggings, a hundred groundwater analyses and a number of hydraulic head measurements, allow to describe the groundwater flow and the evolution of the groundwater quality.
