Description :
Small river-basins in lowland areas of Belgium and The Netherlands show four episodic river adjustments since the Upper Pleniglacial, dated at the end of the Pleniglacial/early Late Glacial and the Late Dryas, Boreal, and Subboreal/Subatlantic. These adjustments are discussed and explained as water discharge fluctuations due to change in precipitation and/or evapotranspiration. In relation to the river adjustments, tentative curves of precipitation, evapotranspiration, and water discharge over the last 15.000 years are presented. - (Authors).
