Description :
In the course of a study performed on traditional pollutants, deposition of radionuclides from Chernobyl was observed at a forest in E. Belgium. The main deposition flux occurred as a consequence of a 7.4 mm rainfall episode which took place on 4 May. The deposition behaviour of radionuclides is very similar to the behaviour of traditional pollutants with the noteworthy exception of radioactive caesium which seems to have been absorbed by tree foliage.
