Evidence for the subglacial meltwater origin and late Quaternary lacustrine environment of Bateau Channel, eastern Lake Ontario
Auteur :GILBERT, R.
Description :
This paper examines the possibility of a subglacial origin for Bateau Channel (especially the constricted portion midway along its length, here referred to as Bateau Narrows ) and outlines its postglacial evolution as rising levels in early Lake Ontario and a related lake in the Kingston basin resulted from isostatic uplift of the outlets.
