Hillside farming, soil erosion, and forest conversion in two southeast Asian national parks

Auteur :
SIEBERT, S. F.

Description :
When soil erosion affected agricultural productivity of hillside farms on both the islands of Leyte (Philippines) and Sumatra (Indonesia), new lands were cleared within nearby national parks. In both cases, similar crops (cassava, maize, sweet potato) dominated and fields were infested with Imperata grass. - (DWG)
