Description :
The process of concentration in farming in the USA is forging ahead with undiminished speed. Forecasters are assuming that by year 2 000, some 50.000 farms will be accounting for almost 75 - 85 % of all agricultural production. The A. analyses the position of the megafarm within the framework of such a process. This term embraces farms which are putting at least $ 8 million worth of agricultural products onto the market each year. - (l'A.).
