Tecolutla : Mexico's by-passed Acapulco east
Auteur :MEYER-ARENDT, K. J.
Description :
The Gulf coast of Mexico, with undependable weather and murky surf, has a resort structure quite different from the Pacific coast. The A. studied the beach town of Tecolutla, 360 km from Mexico City, to describe this east coast tourist development where aging hotels and summer houses are used for short vacation periods by the Mexican middle class. The visitor flow has modestly increased in recent years, but Tecolutla will never achieve the recreational importance of Acapulco. - (DWG)
