Description :
The immigration from Tokushima Prefecture (Shikoku) to Hokkaido was mainly collective migration. Four groups were led or induced by Takekichi Miki whose purpose was to cultivate Japanese indigo plants and manufacture indigo in Hokkaido. The settlement of the early immigrants played the role of axis for the late immigrants. - (SGA)
