Description :
The rural urbanisation in Bulgaria is studied on the example of the former districts Rasgrad, Shoumen and Targoviste. The variables taken into consideration : size of the village population, employment in farming and non-agricultural sectors, public services, infrastructure and present level of demographic transition. Of these 357 villages studied, 8,7 % show high level of urbanisation, 35,6 % - moderate and 38,4 % - low levels, while 17,3 % were not classified due to degraded demographic structure. - (MB)
