This paper presents the results of a detailed study of the landscape ecology carried out in the area surrounding the Inuit hunting site Umingmak on Banks Island. During the pre-Dorset period, Paleo-Eskimo mainly hunted muskoxen at the site. The diversity of ecological features within the 1.25 square kilometer study plot are identified by nine separate monofactorial cartographic presentations. - (l'A)
