Changes of the distribution of the population of Bulgaria for the period 1975-85 have been studied. Special attention is paid to growth and decrease rates by different categories of towns and villages and related problems. Some big towns (Sofia, Plovdiv, Ruse, Silistra, Stara Zagora) displayed 30 % or higher increase. Other topics discussed : recent trends of development of the settlements. - (MB)
