Description :
Using the example of Taisoigan deposits (Priscaspian depression) it is shown that mineralization level of ground water in arid sand massifs can be perfectly indicated by the land system elements when bedding depth is about 1-4 m. It is established that absence of halophytes and pelitophytes in vegetative cover combined with maximum thickness of the aeration zone is a reliable visual criterion of fresh ground water of Taisoigan. - (L'Ed.).
