Precise hints about the moulding of the mountain and the Thuringian Basin as a result of younger, tertiary quaternary movements of the crust after an old young mesozoïque/old-tertiary pediplanation with inselbergs of subtropical-tropical type could be obtained. The comparison of the investigated slit-depths of the floor with those in other climatic regions enables a precision of climatically determined different intensities of denudation processes.
