Holocene slope processes of periglacial mountain areas in Scandinavia and Poland

Auteur :
JONASSON, C.

Description :
The framework of this thesis is a study of the magnitude and frequency of rapid mass movements, e. g. catastrophic events like debris flows, and their temporal and spatial variation during postglacial time. Some attention is also paid to the problem of the periglacial slope as a cascading system. The main working hypothesis is that rapid mass movements are sensitive to varying climatic conditions and that past rapid mass wasting variations should be possible to detect by lake sediment investigations.
