Problems of the Quaternary geomorphology of the Xixabangma region in South Tibet and Nepal in Quaternary of the Karakoram and Himalaya.
Auteurs :OSMASTON, H.

Description :
During the Quaternary, Mt Xixabangma has been progressively uplifted and denuded by rivers and glaciers, and by the effects of periglacial conditions. The balance between these agents differs greatly on different aspects of the massif, as do the resulting landscapes. This complicates the interpretation of Quaternary tectonic and climatic history. The A. tries to clarify the succession of the glaciations and presents a critical summary and review of the Chinese work.
