Cork weather past and present : a comparison between 1793 and the late twentieth century on the Atlantic fringe of Europe
Auteur :TYRRELL, J. G.
Description :
This study examines the data contained in the weather diary of J. Fitzgerald during 1793 in Cork and attempts comparisons between, the reported conditions and those which prevail today (1957-1986). Comparisons with conditions reported for Britain show that there were important differences between the two areas and possible explanations for these differences are offered in terms of patterns of atmospheric circulation.
