Auteurs :CRUICKSHANK, M. M.

Description :
Peatland has been classified and mapped at 1 :20 000 throughout Northern Ireland using air photographs. The much more extensive blanket peat is concentrated in the west. The survey is a framework for conservation : a benchmark to monitor future losses, notably by machine cutting in the 1980s, and could be further developed using Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
