The AA. investigate how perception geography approaches to the images of cities and what practical implications they have. The mental map of Budapest is drawn on the basis of a questionnaire survey among the geography students of the Budapest university. An essential feature of this mental map is overconcentration on the city core. However, the Budapest image as a whole cannot be considered negative. - (DLO), (JS)
