For at least two considerations the original project of barrage construction on the Danube has to be revised : in the plain area agriculture is the most stable, and profitable branch of economy and environmental changes would affect it deleteriously| the rapidly renewable groundwater resources of the Little Plain are now probably the most significant and there is no hope to improve surface and groundwater quality for ensuring drinking water supply. - (DLO), (JS)
